Notifications from EU Member States
On the date of the Republic of Croatia’s accession to the European Union, the provisions of the legislative framework in the field of financial services entered into force, allowing financial services providers authorized by the competent authorities of EU Member States to offer their services in the territory of the Republic of Croatia (the so-called “passporting”).
The relevant EU directives (which have been implemented into Croatian legislation) allow Croatian services providers to operate under the same conditions in other EU Member States.
The Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa) publishes on its website a list of service providers from other Member States for which, in accordance with the prescribed procedure, it has received a notification of their intention to provide services in the Republic of Croatia.
Cross-border activities and marketing of units or shares of UCITS and AIFs in the territory of the Republic of Croatia through passporting are permitted for:
• notified fund management companies from EU Member States
