Students from the Faculty of Economics in Osijek visit HANFA

Published:  22 May 2019

About twenty students of year five from the Faculty of Economics in Osijek visited HANFA today to learn more about its work and about examinations it conducts as a regulatory authority. Their visit is a continuation of many years of successful cooperation with this institution.

The focus of this year’s presentation, along with the scope, powers and supervisory activities of the regulatory authority, was placed on the exams organized by HANFA. Thanks to Tihana Gregorović from the Licensing Office, students had the opportunity to learn more about the procedure of licensing natural persons and about the exams testing the professional knowledge required to undertake insurance or reinsurance distribution business, or to work as an broker, investment advisor, authorised pension fund manager, pension insurance company manager and actuary.

In addition to the mentioned educational activities the HANFA representative will visit Elementary School Dugave in Zagreb at the end of this week where he will be lecturing in front of about 20 students of the sixth and eighth grade. This will be a chance for them to find out more about the basics of financial literacy and to learn about online financial frauds in order to be able to avoid them.

These lectures, along with the last week's lecture on financial literacy in the private secondary school „Svijet“ in Zagreb, will wrap up the cycle of HANFA's educational lectures for the first half of this calendar year. This is a part of year-round activities carried out by HANFA in order to increase the overall level of financial literacy in Croatia.
